Archived NewsMarch 2007: The New BandroomThe new bandroom is sufficiently ready for rehearsals to begin this week, a grand official opening is planned for May/June this year.
March 2007: Area Contest, BradfordThe Band was drawn 7th and played Sinfonietta: The Wayfarer by Eric Ball in the First section. After a few tough months of rehearsals, the band played really well, especially the soloists, and were placed a creditable 6th.
February 2007: Preston ContestThe Band had an late draw so most of the day was spent waiting around. The band played Sinfonietta: The Wayfarer which is the area test piece and came 10th.
February 2007: New BandroomThe new bandroom is near completion and will be soon in use, hopefully by next week. There are numerous practice rooms and two balconies, this means that concerts may be held in it. A photographer is coming to take pictures of the band for the first rehearsal in the new bandroom. These pictures will be uploaded to the site in due course. |
