Congratulations to all the players in the “B” Band for their performance on Sunday at the Y&HBBA contest held in Dewsbury Town Hall. The band were placed 3rd. Peggy Tomlinson, President of the Y&HBBA congratulated the band on their performance on stage – their enthusiasm and attention to detail was without doubt the reason why they were placed 3rd out of the 4 bands that played in Section C.
Well done to Harry and all the band members on stage.
This week the band have sadly said “good-bye” to one of our “B” band players, Michael Beatty – Eb Bass player.
Michael was the band’s oldest player at the age of 81 and only recently played in the last concert that was held at The Carding Shed in early October.
Michael, father of Jonathan our MD and also husband of Sue who also plays in the “B” Band will be sadly missed at both rehearsals and all the bands engagements as he and Sue supported both bands at Hade Edge.
Members of Hade Edge Band along with members from Meltham and Meltham Mills Band and Thurlestone Brass Band played at his funeral on the 25th October.
Michael was a true Yorkshire gentleman and will be missed by all at Hade Edge Band.
