June and Summer engagements for Hade Edge Band

On Saturday 25th June both the “B” Band and Senior Band will be entertaining the crowds at the Scholes Gala commencing from 1pm.

On Sunday 3rd July the senior Band will be contesting in the prestigious Brighouse March Contest which takes place in Brighouse town Centre from 1pm. Hade Edge Band are drawn to play number 25 out of 26 bands entered.

On Saturday 9th July Hade Edge Band will be playing one again at the village of Sacriston and then onto Durham City as part of the 2016 Durham Miners Gala. Coach booked – times to be notified. If you are interested in coming along please contact the Chairman.

On Sunday 23rd July hade Edge Band are playing at Carlecotes Church Fete in the afternoon. Please come along and support this worthwhile cause.

Holme Valley Slow Melody Contest – June 18th

The Holme Valley Contest Committee are holding the 3rd Slow Melody Contest in Hade Edge Band Room on Saturday 18th June from 10am. The are a variety of sections entering for the coveted trophies on offer. Come along and support this exceptional contest within the Holme Valley and encourage our younger and future players of Senior Bands around the country. There is still time to for players who may wish to enter any section within the contest. Please contact for details.

SPRING CONCERT IN THE BANDROOM

The Hade Edge Band and the Hade Edge “B” Band will be performing their Spring Concert on Thursday 9th June at the band room in Hade Edge,

Concert starts at 7:30pm. No need to book, just come along on the evening..

A lively and entertaining evening of brass band music.

Refreshments will be available.

Please support both of our bands who will be performing at this concert.

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO HADE EDGE PLAYERS – Harry/Jack and Henry

Everyone at Hade Edge Band would like to congratulate Harry, Jack and Henry on their following achievements.

Harry Beach our Eb Bass player has been accepted as the Principal Tuba Player for the National Youth Brass Band of GB.. A fantastic achievement and everyone is proud of this milestone in Harry’s career.

Jack Brown recently took his Grade 8 exams on the Euphonium and passed with flying colours. Well done Jack.

and not to be outdone his younger brother Henry who is in the B Band has recently been successful in taking his Grade 1 exams on the Trumpet. Henry achieved this with Merit and in addition achieved 10/10 for the sight reading exercise.

 

Well done to our players and we wish them continued success in the future.

 

Hade Edge Band Awards 2016

The annual band awards were announced at the bands annual get together .

The awards for 2016 were as follows:-

Player’s Player Award – Dave Smith

Best Teenager Award – Harry Beach

Band Personality Award – Ivan Conroy

Most Improved Player Award – Joel Kirk

Outstanding Contribution Award – Margaret & Robert.
